Back to Indiana and Illinois in November

Every year, we travel through Indiana and Illinois to visit my in-laws in Missouri.  It is very flat, with lots of farms and very few towns.
Last year, I did a couple of paintings from photos snapped in the car, which you can see here and here.  We went again this Thanksgiving just past, and you can see a photo I snapped in the car (below), and the first landscape that came from it (above).  If you're wondering, I didn't look at the photo when I painted--I was working from memory and feel--I remembered a lonely barn on the horizon with a leading field of gold and a clear blue sky.   The painting is approximately 5x5 inches square.
